Meet Sami Reed!
// By Jacqueline Brennan
We need positive people in this world. Sami Reed is definitely that, and we’re lucky to have her joining us in LA in two weeks. Sami is the founder of Elevate Corporate Wellness, a Long Beach-based organization that’s dedicated the holistic health of organizations—from the collective culture, to the individual humans that define that culture. If you’re interested to hear more from Sami after reading this Q&A, she will also be giving a Spark Talk on Friday, November 16 in the Upswell Public Square!
Q: Who are you, what drives you, what are you working on, and why are you inspired to make the world a better place?
SR: What drives me is living in alignment with my purpose to be the best human being I can be. I am passionate about loving myself and then extending that love to every human being I come into contact with. I am the CEO of Elevate. We currently offer certifications and programs that focus on enhancing social and emotional intelligence. Literacy in these things helps us recharge and bring forward the best version of ourselves at work and at home. I am excited to share my ideas with other changemakers so we can expand, grow, learn, and make a difference in our world.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about the physical space you work in?
SR: My favorite thing about the physical space I work in is sharing it with the CTO of Elevate. Together I believe we can change the world. The support, care, inspiration, strength, trust, honesty, and the authentic connection to living in alignment with our higher purpose drives every decision we make for the company. That in itself is rare, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Q: If you could walk away from Upswell with one big thing (an idea, relationship, new skill, etc.), what would it be?
SR: If I could walk away from Upswell with one big thing, it would be to connect and build relationships with leaders who can make a positive difference in the lives of others. It’s an exciting time in the world, filled with opportunities to lead, heal, and collaborate. Together we shall stand!
